Analysis of Shared Electric Scooter Use in Riga

Abstract Shared electric micromobility has been becoming increasingly popular during last few years, especially in the context of Covid-19 and its impact on public transportation. Because propulsion, scooters are considered as potentially one ways how to decrease CO 2 emissions urban transportation sector. This article examines scooter trip data obtained 2021 season Riga city. The analysis shows similarities between trips other cities, most notably hourly distribution. There differences however many aspects, like average distance duration; largest difference being slow speed Riga, (5.4 km/h) which is comparable fast walking. observed significant variance indicates, that a systematic holistic approach will be needed use making decisions about not relying values. findings from this add understanding North-Eastern Europe.
